Welcome to Southern Exposure Photography. By booking a session with us or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please take a moment to read them carefully.

1. Business Details

Southern Exposure Photography (SEP) is a sole trader business operating in New South Wales under ABN 70768611430. We provide professional photography services by appointment only. You can reach us at:

2. Services Offered

We specialise in family portraiture and offer a variety of packages, including promotional offers that may include 1–2 complimentary digital images. Additional high-resolution digital images are available for purchase at the time of your post-shoot viewing.

We also provide custom quotes and services for other types of sessions on request, such as events, branding, and music artist promo shoots.

3. Booking & Cancellations

  • Bookings: Can be made via our website contact form, phone, or email.
  • Deposits & Prepayments: For promotional offers such as the $50 special, payment is required upfront to secure your booking.
  • Rescheduling: Clients may reschedule their session with at least 72 hours’ notice with no penalty.
  • Cancellations: Accepted without penalty for genuine reasons such as illness or other reasonable circumstances, provided notice is given.
  • No-Shows: At this time, we do not enforce a no-show fee.
  • Right to Refuse Bookings: Southern Exposure Photography reserves the right to politely decline any photoshoot or booking that we consider unsuitable or not aligned with our services.

4. Payments

  • Accepted Methods: EFT (bank transfer), American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and cash.
  • Surcharges: All in-person card transactions incur a 1.6% surcharge. Card payments taken over the phone incur a 2.2% surcharge.
  • Payment Terms:
    • Promotional offers (e.g., $50 special) must be paid upfront at the time of booking.
    • Additional image purchases must be paid in full at the viewing session.
  • Image Release: Final images will only be provided once full payment is received.

5. Image Delivery & Edits

During your viewing session you may:

  • Select complimentary digital images included in your offer (digital only, unless you purchase prints separately).

  • Purchase additional digital images.

  • Order physical products such as prints, canvases, or albums (optional, no minimum order).

All purchased images are final and non-refundable, except as provided under our Satisfaction Guarantee.

6. Viewing & Purchasing

After your session, you’ll be invited to view the final edited images. At this session, you’ll be able to:

  • Select your complimentary digital image(s) (if applicable to a special offer)

  • Purchase additional digital images

  • Order prints, canvases, or other presentation products (optional; no minimum order)

7. Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our work. If you are not happy with your final portraits, we will reshoot at no additional cost. If you are still not satisfied, we will refund your payment in full. This guarantee applies to all sessions.

8. Privacy Policy

We collect and store client information (name, email, phone number, and session details) solely for communication, booking, and service delivery purposes. Client data may be stored securely in third-party platforms such as Studio Ninja and Google Workspace, in compliance with Australian privacy laws.

We will only use your images for promotional purposes with signed consent via a Model Release form after your viewing session.

9. Liability & Force Majeure

While we take every reasonable precaution to ensure your safety and the quality of your images, SEP is not liable for:

  • Any injuries sustained during a session, except as covered by our public liability insurance.

  • Delays or issues caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, illness, equipment failure).

Southern Exposure Photography holds current public liability insurance, which provides coverage in the event of certain accidents or incidents occurring during a session. Details of coverage can be provided on request.

In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule where appropriate.

10. Model Release

SEP will only use client images for promotional purposes with explicit consent. After your viewing appointment, if you verbally confirm you are open to promotional use, SEP will send you a Model Release form for signature.

The Model Release allows SEP to use the agreed images for marketing purposes including our website, social media, printed materials, portfolio, editorial features, and trade. If the images include anyone under 18, the form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

You may withdraw consent for future promotional use at any time by notifying us in writing. We will make reasonable efforts to remove your images from active use but cannot recall images from materials already printed, published, or distributed before withdrawal.
